I received a copy of this book from StoryCartel.com in exchange for an honest review.
The author really needs to enlist either an editor or a formatter for this one, as the layout is at times distracting (especially if you’re an e-book author yourself like me; you can see exactly what’s wrong and you end up shouting at the book – “Move that margin over, dagnabit!”). But, for the most part, the book is readable and what he’s saying is easily understood.
Mr. Voketaitis goes into both what happens to the body during sleeping and gives a good number of easy remedies to help folks get the sleep they’re missing, from simple fixes like sleep masks (blindfolds), to medication (OTC, prescribed and herbal), to yoga and relaxation techniques to turn the body’s internal rhythms down to “low” before bed, to simple diet changes/additions to get the right natural chemicals into your brain to facilitate the sleep process.
All-in-all, there’s some good and useful information in Sleeping Soundly. I already use some of the techniques described, and will try some of the others as the need warrants.
