Review: The Last Campaign: Robert F. Kennedy and 82 Days That Inspired America

The Last Campaign: Robert F. Kennedy and 82 Days That Inspired America
The Last Campaign: Robert F. Kennedy and 82 Days That Inspired America by Thurston Clarke
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Excellent memoir of the regrettably short presidential election run of Bobby Kennedy. Unlike most works, it doesn’t center on the assassination itself, but Bobby’s run up to his monumental win in the California primary, and how he tried to put forth policies to help the truly poor and indigent in the country – issues that haven’t gotten much more than lip service since then. It’s a very poignant and painful story to read at times, but it’s recommended reading.
