Review: Stereo Views: An Illustrated History and Price Guide

Stereo Views: An Illustrated History and Price Guide
Stereo Views: An Illustrated History and Price Guide by John Waldsmith
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Not a bad book on the hobby of stereography, but a bit too devoted to the price guide end of the subject, rather than the background information. I bought it for the information on View-Masters, which I collect, and there’s a good amount on the classic toy, but price guides are pretty worthless in these quick-changing internet times. Still, the book has some decent background on the whole hobby, from the beginnings in the mid-1800s, to the various different mechanisms and companies who have entered the field over the years. A good guide until something better comes along.
