Review: Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm

Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm
Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm by Charlton Press, Inc.
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So far, this has been the best of the Charlton Press reprint paperbacks from the seventies. The books reformatted one page gags from the various Charlton Comics into comic strip form and reprinted them like any other mass market reprint of the day. These were mostly distributed through book clubs (like Scholastic or Weekly Reader), and are somewhat hard to find nowadays.

The artwork in these are VERY good for the time period (and for Charlton, which had a printing press that often left a lot to be desired). The story material for the gags is a bit peppier than the ones for the other Flintstones books, and a tad more accessible to kids I think even today. And there’s a lot more dinosaurs in it, too. 🙂
